Disney College Program

What is the Disney College Program?

The Disney College Program is an internship opportunity for college students. Students apply directly to Disney and, if selected, are invited to spend a semester at Disney World living, working, and learning on-site. In addition to a once in a lifetime experience, students may continue their education through Disney College Courses, Rowan University's Disney College Program Online Course, and/or independent coursework.

The Disney College Program provides student participants with invaluable life and learning experiences. Disney College Program paid interns enjoy a unique and extended travel opportunity, college credit for courses and experience, and global networking, not to mention a perfect addition to a young career builder's résumé. Interns live Disney! They work at Disney Resort attractions and facilities. They live in Disney-sponsored housing. They learn from Disney leaders and educators. While interns inevitably enjoy their magical surroundings, they also learn to trouble shoot real situations, depend on teammates, offer superior guest service, and communicate effectively.

How can Rowan Global Learning & Partnerships help me with the Disney College Program?

Rowan Global is excited to host the Rowan University Disney College Program Online Course, but that's our only role. Academic Advisors, program coordinators, and University faculty have joined together to create a comprehensive information, preparatory, and immersion learning experience for students who are interested in, apply for, are invited, and accept their invitation to join the Walt Disney World workforce for a semester. Through Rowan Global, students will not only gather general information about the Disney College Program, but they will also hear from former Disney College Interns, prepare their applications, practice the interview process, and create a plan of study for their Disney College Program semester.

Is the Disney College Program right for me?

There are several ways to answer this question. One way is to attend a Disney College Program Information Session hosted by Rowan Global. Look for updates on scheduled sessions in the upcoming weeks, as Rowan Global hosts a minimum of two information sessions per semester. Information sessions are for students who are exploring the Disney College Program, for Disney College Program applicants, and for students who have been accepted into the Disney College Program.

Am I eligible?

Applicants to the Disney College Program must be currently enrolled and taking classes or recent graduates (within six months of application) and may apply for participation any time after first-semester of freshman year. For a complete list of eligibility requirements, see Disney College Program application information below.)

How do I fit the Disney College Program internship into my current program of study?

The Disney College Program experience takes place within an academic semester, during which time interns will be away from Rowan University, living, working, and studying at Disney. Fitting the Disney College Program into an existing course of study can be done, especially with the help of advisors. Rowan Global offers advisement to students who are interested in the Disney College Program. Advisors help students plan for the Disney College Program semester and subsequent semesters so that students do not fall behind in their studies.

Sources through which students may earn credit during their semester-long Disney College Program internship include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • ELEM02199 Special Topics: Developing the 21st Century Skills at Disney World
    • Online / Undergraduate / 3 s.h.
    • Offered Fall and Spring semesters
    • This course is designed to examine the four overarching skills of the Partnership for the 21st Century Skills and the impact that ethical development of those skills has on personal responsibility in society. These four (4) learning and innovational skills of: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication, will be explored and developed. Students will become immersed in the Walt Disney World experience through a wide range of field and research related activities. The course will provide opportunities for students to reflect upon and examine the interconnection among personal responsibility, social justice and these four skills.
